Protect Your Skin
The summer sun is no stranger to damaging skin! As tempting as it is to get a tan by lying on the beach all day, not wearing sun protection can lead to sunburns. Be sure to avoid exercise, swimming, saunas, and hot showers for twenty-four hours after waxing. Wearing loose-fitting clothing is crucial to avoid irritation and redness. Epsom salt baths are a great way to relax and reduce inflammation! Avoid heavy moisturizers on your skin. Lightweight moisturizers, such as coconut and grapeseed oil, are key to keeping your skin glowy and smooth.
Within the next few days, be sure to keep your skin hydrated and use alcohol-free moisturizers. Although waxing exfoliates the skin, further exfoliation after your appointment will prevent ingrown hairs. Be sure to wait at least forty-eight hours after your wax before exfoliating. Remember that skin is more susceptible to UV damage after getting waxed. Using a high SPF sunscreen will protect your skin from any damage. Avoid harsh products with fragrance, alcohol, and retinol on the affected area.
