Self-Care and Wellness: Ten Tips For National Wellness Month

Self-Care and Wellness: Ten Tips For National Wellness Month
Hey, babes! As we celebrate National Wellness Month, we want our waxi-readers to remember that wellness isn’t just about looking good, it’s about feeling good too. It’s important to find a balance between mind and body. As a professional who has been waxing for over thirty years, nothing makes me happier than seeing the difference in my clients after their appointment! They always leave feeling more beautiful, confident, and happy. This month, we wanted to remind our clients that self-care is an integral part of overall wellness. To do that, we have come up with ten wellness tips that we swear by from the perspective of waxing specialists.
Exfoliate
Not only is exfoliation great for waxing prep, it’s also great for your skin! Exfoliating 1-2 days before your wax will leave you with the perfect base when getting a wax. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells and reduces the chance of ingrown hairs, leaving you with smoother, softer skin!
Hydrate Inside and Out
Hydration is so important when improving overall wellness. Staying hydrated will improve your mood, keep your skin glowing, and increase energy. Although it’s important to stay hydrated from the inside, it’s important to stay hydrated from the outside as well! Always moisturize your skin to give it that soft, glowy look. When moisturizing after a wax, we recommend using a lighter oil, like coconut or grapeseed oil.
Protect Your Skin From Stress
Tight-fitting clothes can irritate your skin after a wax. Taking a break from wearing these clothes gives your skin time to breathe after a waxing session. Wearing tight-fitting clothing after a wax will leave your skin red and irritated. This ensures that your skin will be soft and glowy, and leave you feeling confident and beautiful!
Establish a Routine
Establishing a routine is a great way to ensure you keep up with personal wellness goals you may set for yourself. A great way to do this is to schedule your waxing appointment ahead of time!
Invest In Quality Products
Taking care of what’s on the outside will reflect positively on the inside. Investing in good-quality skincare and moisturizers will leave you feeling confident and beautiful! Our Lavender Grapeseed Oil and Healing Ointment are perfect for right after a wax and will leave you feeling refreshed and glowy.
Treat Every Service As ‘Me-Time’
Self-care is an important part of wellness, and that includes taking care of your mental health. It’s always important to take a break from your busy schedule and relax!
Light Exercise
Taking a short walk, hiking, or going for a swim are great ways to connect with nature, take a break from screens, and improve your wellness. Always remember to avoid exercise, swimming, saunas, and hot showers for 24-48 hours after waxing.
Listen To Your Body
It’s always important to listen to your body and avoid pushing yourself past your limits. If you have a sunburn, flare-up of a skin condition, on medication that increases skin sensitivity, or on the first few days of your period, it’s best to avoid getting a wax. Although it’s important to have self-care days, it’s more important to protect your skin.
Try Something New!
Wellness is about both the body and mind. Trying something new, like picking up a hobby or experimenting with a new look, is a great way to keep your mind and body engaged.
Make Self-Care A Non-Negotiable
Self-care is such a big part of overall wellness, but it can be the first to fall to the bottom of your to-do list when you have a busy schedule. Make self-care days a non-negotiable, set aside time to invest in yourself, and do something you love. Our Tea Tree Epsom Salt is perfect for a relaxing bath!
As you celebrate National Wellness Month, don’t forget to keep this list in mind. Self-care is an integral part of overall wellness.
