Our team is at the heart of everything we do, which is why we’re excited to reintroduce the staff behind the wax. These women are the talented and passionate professionals who make Waxi Taxi what it is.
Jeny
Meet our founder, Jeny Burkhart, who is the heart and history behind the Waxi Taxi. With over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry, Jeny’s journey began in 1993 after graduating from Lowell Beauty College. Her career began by working in local day spas, where she quickly made her mark, becoming the area’s very first waxing specialist to offer the Brazilian wax.
As a mom of three, Jeny eventually realized that traditional salon hours didn’t work for her family anymore. She took a huge leap of faith, stepping away from a steady paycheck and a clientele she loved. This bold decision led to the creation of the Waxi Taxi. What started as a solo venture has grown into a thriving business with three locations.
Beyond the waxing room, Jeny has a huge heart for giving back to the community. She believes in supporting local businesses and being deeply involved in our community. Jeny also has a passion for theater and often assists with local theater productions.
Erin
Meet Erin, one of our waxing specialists at the Chesterton and Michigan City locations! Erin graduated from Chesterton High School in 2021, already knowing she wanted to build a career in waxing. She jumped right into her next chapter by enrolling at the Don Roberts School of Hair Design, where she focused on Esthetics and began honing the skills that would shape her future in the waxing room. Her passion, drive, and commitment to the craft led her to join the Waxi Taxi team in 2023.
When she’s not in the salon, Erin loves traveling, chasing new adventures, and making the most of her time off. At home, you’ll usually find her relaxing and snuggling with her sweet Maltese, Shelby, who has clearly claimed the title of best cuddle buddy.
Molly
Meet Molly, a waxing specialist at the Crown Point location! Molly earned her Esthetics license in March of 2024 from Tricoci University and officially joined Team Taxi in April 2024. Before stepping into the world of esthetics, Molly spent 14 years teaching high school English and even earned her master’s degree along the way. Teaching has always been close to her heart, but her love for skincare and helping people feel confident in their own skin led her to pursue her longtime dream of becoming an esthetician right here at the Waxi Taxi, following in the footsteps of her big sister, Jeny.
Molly is detail-oriented and takes pride in delivering professional, thoughtful services to each client. Outside of the salon, Molly loves spending quality time with her partner and their three children, squeezing in weekend getaways, and truly living life to the fullest.
Analise
Meet Analise, a waxing specialist at the Chesterton location! Analise first joined the Waxi Taxi in April of 2022 as our office assistant, quickly becoming a go-to support for both our team and our clients. After graduating mid-term from Chesterton High School, she began pursuing her passion for esthetics at Tricoci University of Beauty, working hard behind the scenes while building her future in the industry. In June of 2024, Analise officially graduated and earned her Esthetician License, and we were so excited to welcome her as a certified waxing specialist!
When she’s not at the salon, Analise loves spending time with her friends and, most of all, her family, which includes nine siblings! With a big family and an even bigger heart, she brings warmth, energy, and genuine care to our team every day.
Siobhan
Meet Siobhan, one of our waxing specialists in Michigan City. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Siobahn knew she wanted a career that allowed her to bring joy, peace, and kindness into people’s lives every day. Siobhan completed her esthetics training at the Aveda Institute in Chicago in 2018 and has been a practicing esthetician ever since. Over the years, she discovered a true passion for waxing and now specializes in providing thoughtful, detail-driven services that help clients feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.
Outside of the waxing room, Siobhan loves spending time outdoors, cooking, and keeping up with her energetic three-year-old son! Her warmth, empathy, and gentle approach make her a valued member of the Waxi Taxi team.
Tara
Meet Tara, a waxing specialist at the Crown Point location! Tara earned her Esthetics license in July of 2024 from Tricoci University and brings a thoughtful, client-first approach to every service she provides. After nearly five years working in sales and marketing, she felt the pull to follow her true passion for skincare and made the exciting career shift into esthetics.
Tara prides herself on creating a welcoming, safe space where women can fully relax and enjoy their services, knowing they’re in caring, capable hands. When she’s not in the waxing room, you’ll find Tara soaking up the outdoors, heading out on adventures with her husband, and spending time with their sweet Husky, Myka.
Barb
Meet Barb, the organizational heart that keeps the Waxi Taxi running as smoothly as our waxes. Barb joined the Waxi Taxi in 2022 as a waxing specialist, quickly proving herself to be someone who sees what needs to be done and makes it happen. Over time, her leadership, initiative, and natural problem-solving skills led her into a new role, and today, she proudly manages all three of our locations. While she’s stepped away from the waxing room, Barb’s impact is felt every single day.
Outside of work, Barb loves spending time with her husband and their three children, getting her hands dirty in the garden, cooking, and enjoying time with friends. She finds peace and balance in nature, walking in the woods and along the beach every day.
Kennedy
Meet Kennedy, one of the newest faces on the Waxi Taxi team! Kennedy joined the Waxi Taxi in August 2025 as our intern. She’s currently a senior at Chesterton High School, participating in their internship program and gaining hands-on experience while exploring her future career path. Kennedy graduates this year and plans to attend Indiana University Bloomington. As one of four siblings, Kennedy is very close with her family, and that sense of connection and care shows in everything she does. In her free time, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, going on walks, and spending quality time with her friends. Her positive attitude and eagerness to learn make her a great part of Team Taxi.
