While almost everybody is working on their letters to the North Pole, a waxer’s wishlist looks a little different! These presents aren’t made in a workshop by elves, however. They’re thoughtful gestures and good habits from our favorite people (also known as our clients). If you really want to show your waxer how much you appreciate their magic touch this year, here are the top things every waxer secretly hopes for!
All I Want For The Holidays This Year Is…
- No Shaving Between Appointments
Shaving in between waxes is like taking down all the decorations before the holidays arrive; it just messes everything up! It affects your hair growth cycle, reduces the effectiveness of waxing, and can cause ingrown hairs. If you want your hair to grow back softer and finer (and your wax appointment to be faster and easier), resist the urge to pick up that razor between appointments.
- No Last-Minute Cancellations
If you want to stay off the naughty list, don’t cancel or reschedule your appointment at the last minute! Waxi Taxi requires a 24-hour advance notice, or you will be charged for the full amount of services scheduled. This includes rescheduling; rescheduling the day of your appointment is still considered canceling.
We always try to be flexible, but it’s important to be mindful of each other’s time. If you have an emergency or are feeling unwell, please let us know! We will always prioritize your wellness over your appointment. That being said, as a small business, we don’t have the same large-scale flexibility or influx of customers as a big chain salon. A few no-shows or late cancellations a week can affect the livelihood of our staff.
- A Strong Aftercare Routine
The best gift you can give your waxer is taking care of your skin after your wax! Aftercare is just as important as the wax itself. If you don’t want coal in your stocking this year, be sure to:
- Avoid sun exposure, sweating, and harsh products
- Keep the area clean
- Take a warm bath with Epsom salt after your service
- Wear loose, breathable clothing to your appointment
- Apply soothing aftercare products (such as ours!)
- Honesty
We promise we won’t be mad if you make a few mistakes in between appointments; it happens! All we ask is that you’re honest with your waxer. Be sure to tell us if you’ve shaved between appointments, sunbathed, used tanning beds 24 to 48 hours before waxing, if your skin is irritated, if you’re nervous, or if you’ve used lotion or oil before your appointment. No matter what it is, Waxi Taxi is a judgment-free zone, so don’t be afraid to tell your waxer. This will allow us to shift directions and accommodate your needs.
- Booking Ahead Of Time
One of the biggest gifts you can give your waxing specialist is booking your next appointment! When you schedule ahead of time, you get consistent results, an organized calendar, and minimized stress during one of the busiest times of the year.
