Please help us extend a warm, Waxi Taxi welcome to our newest intern: Kennedy! As part of our commitment to create a welcoming and educational space for future beauty professionals, we are thrilled to have Kennedy join our team.
Kennedy is a high school student with a knack for making people feel welcome. You could say this runs in the family, as Kennedy is my niece! This internship will help her gain the experience, confidence, and tools needed to pursue her aspirations in the beauty industry. Her role at the salon is integral to creating a welcoming environment for clients. We sat down with Kennedy and asked her a few questions about her role to help our clients get to know her a little bit better.
All About Kennedy
What made you want to intern at the Waxi Taxi?
“I have grown up visiting the Waxi Taxi, given that my aunt is the owner, and I have always been very interested in the occupation itself and how the business is run.”
How would your closest friends describe your personality, and how do those traits benefit you in your position?
“My friends would often describe me as outgoing, easy to talk to, and lively. In a workplace that benefits my ability to talk to customers.”
How would you describe the salon’s atmosphere to someone who’s never been here before?
“I would describe the environment of The Waxi Taxi to be extremely welcoming and comforting. People may often be nervous to come as first-time waxers, but walking in and being greeted with kind and welcoming staff, along with comfortable furniture and more, gives a calming feeling.”
What advice would you give another high school student thinking about interning at a salon?
“I would tell them to absolutely do it! You learn so much about the business industry, and it really helps you create a path for what you want to do.”
Looking ahead, how do you think this experience will help you in the future, even if you don’t go into the beauty industry?
“Looking forward, I think being a part of this industry will teach me how to interact with people, how to be a part of a business, and most importantly, teamwork. All of these qualities will follow me wherever I go!”
