When we opened our salon doors, we weren’t just starting a business but becoming part of a community. Michigan City isn’t just where we work; it’s where we live, celebrate, and grow. It’s one of the locations across Northwest Indiana that we call home.
Waxi Taxi began as a mobile service where we visited clients, but as our clientele grew, the need for centrally located salons became evident. We opened our first salon in Chesterton but soon saw the need to open our second salon in the heart of Michigan City. We opened our Michigan City salon more than nine years ago. We feel that there’s something special about being truly rooted in a place. We don’t just serve our Michigan City and LaPorte County clients; we strive to be part of the fabric of the community. Our team members shop at local markets, attend community events, and raise families here. As a company, we give back to local organizations and causes. This connection drives our commitment to make Michigan City thrive, not just for our business but for everyone who calls this special place home. Additionally, we chose to open a location in Michigan City because of the diversity it offers: loads of artists, nature, the city vibe, the lakefront, and a variety of small businesses that invested in the community.
