Jeny Burkhart
Founder
Our founder, Jeny Burkhart has over 30 years of experience. After completing her training at Lowell Beauty College in 1993, she began her career at local day spas. There, she became the area’s very first Brazilian waxer outside of Chicago. Being a mother of three, Jeny’s career took a new path. Working in a salon, with salon hours and expectations, no longer worked for her family. She ventured out on her own, and over many years, built what is now a thriving and growing business.
“I am beyond amazed at what we have created at The Waxi Taxi.
17 years ago, I walked away from a regular paycheck and a clientele that I loved. I took a huge leap of faith, and with a LOT of work and dedication, I was able to create this business out of nothing in a world where body waxing was still very taboo. I aimed to provide clients access to the best waxing service, with affordable pricing, and most importantly, feel empowered and comfortable with their bodies.”
Jeny also is passionate about volunteerism and donating to organizations and her local community. She believes it is part of the social contract we have with those we share our lives with, which is our family and our community family.
Entering into year 30, she is looking to the future, and how to continue to grow and evolve. “Now, I strive to provide this career opportunity to the next generation of estheticians and cosmetologists so they can also have what I feel is the best of everything, family time, a satisfying and successful career, and excellent pay and benefits.”

Barb Thompson
Waxing Specialist
Barb joined Team Taxi in July 2022.
Though she graduated from esthetics school about 20 years ago, she is just now getting back to her “waxing roots”.
She spent years working with her family at their restaurant, raising her three young children, and spending time with her husband and family. Barb is a woman of many talents!
She enjoys art, cooking, and creating. She is a natural caregiver and is very calming and patient, which is a gift to her clients. Barb takes her time and really wants to make sure her clients are comfortable.
Erin Frencl
Waxing Specialist
Erin graduated midterm from Chesterton High School in 2021. She knew right away she hoped to pursue a career in body waxing.
Shortly after graduating early from high school, Erin enrolled at Don Roberts School of Hair Design to specialize in Esthetics. Erin joined The Waxi Taxi team in 2023.
In her free time, Erin enjoys traveling, having new adventures, and
snuggling with her Maltese named Shelby.
Gabrielle Malave
Waxing Specialist
Gabby is a 2020 graduate of Merrillville High School. Graduating in 2020, during a pandemic, came with an extra set of challenges.
Initially Gabby attended a university for psychology. After a year and a half of online school, Gabby decided to change directions. She combined her love of people and the beauty industry, and enrolled at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. Gabby graduated September 2022 and joined Team Taxi in 2023.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and relaxing!
Molly Wagener
Waxing Specialist
Molly earned her Esthetics license in March of 2024 from Tricoci University and recently joined Team Taxi in April 2024!
After 14 years of teaching high school English and acquiring her master’s degree, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming an esthetician here at The Waxi Taxi like her big sister, Jeny! Although she remains devoted to teaching, Molly is passionate about skincare and helping people look and feel their best. Molly is detail-oriented and strives to provide the most professional service for all her clients.
In her free time, Molly enjoys spending time with her partner and three children, going on weekend vacations, and living life to the fullest!
Analise McCord
Office Assistant
Analise runs the show over here at Waxi Taxi! In April 2022, Analise came on as an office assistant. When her junior year at Chesterton High School began in August 2022, she became involved in the CHS Intern Program. She keeps us on our toes and knows what we need before we even know ourselves. She comes from a BIG family (she is one of TEN) so is the master of coordination.
Analise continued her internship through her senior year, before graduating early in December 2023. In January 2024 she began her Esthetic career at
Tricoci University of Beauty. She will be one of our waxing specialists before we know it!
